In case you missed my last blog post, I just started my training to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP). Our first section is to learn how we got where we are today. Our collective state of wellness in the developed world (especially here in the U.S.), is depressing. Before your hands up and just give up, know that there is hope. Armed with knowledge, I’ll continue to bring you information that will help you achieve wellness, feel great, and live a full, healthy, and rich life.
So let’s answer the question:

How Did We Get To Be So Unhealthy?

Where we are today has been progressing over the last 10,000+ years, but has really gone at Lightforce speed in just the last century. Take a look at the infographic below for a snapshot picture.

  • Going back to the basics is a great place to start. If you have the means, you should choose 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef; cage-free and free-range poultry; and organic produce.
  • Consider filling half your plate with vegetables and fruits.
  • Cook at home with real, whole ingredients. Avoid food products that are in a package with an ingredient label.
  • Remove added sugars and artificial sweeteners from your diet.
  • If you pick just one or two things that you aren’t doing currently, you will be well on your way to leading your family and yourself to better health!
